Home Assistant smart home, Belgium

Your connected home, without vendor lock-in.

A typical day, hands off

  1. 07:00 The presence sensor sees you get up: blinds, heating, light.
  2. 13:00 Empty house: solar produces, the vacuum runs, the pool filters.
  3. 19:00 The camera recognises you: the alarm disarms, lights, music and TV come on.
  4. 23:00 Everything switches off, the blinds close, the alarm arms.
Illustration: your Home Assistant box, at home, takes in the sensors and triggers every step. Devices, times and scenes are shown as examples.

Animated illustration of a cutaway house going through one day, with its devices: presence sensors, a face recognition camera at the entrance, alarm and siren, blinds, lighting, heating, speakers, television, robot vacuum, swimming pool, solar panels and an energy meter. A Home Assistant box in the loft sends a pulse to each device before it reacts. In the morning the bedroom presence sensor detects someone getting up: the blinds open, the radiator warms up. During the day the house is empty, the solar panels produce, the meter switches to export, the robot vacuum crosses the living room, the pool filtration runs and the blinds close halfway against overheating. In the evening someone walks up the path, the camera recognises their face and passes it to the box: the alarm disarms, the door unlocks, the rooms light up, the television and the music come on. At night everything switches off, the blinds close, the pool light comes on and the alarm arms.

We install Home Assistant in your home, connect the devices you already own, and automate what actually saves you time. Everything runs at home: no lifetime licence, no mandatory subscription, no proprietary app. Compatible with what your electrician already fits.

Services

Everything you need, from the first visit to the follow-up.

One person handles it all: the visit to your home, the installation, connecting your devices, the automations, the network and the follow-up. No three contractors to coordinate.

Visit and quote
We come and look at your current setup, free of charge. You get a detailed quote within 5 business days.
Home Assistant installation
On your NAS if you already have one, otherwise on a Raspberry Pi 5, an HA Green or Yellow box, or a mini-PC. We choose together, based on your budget.
Connecting your devices
More than 3,000 brands and protocols are supported: Zigbee, Z-Wave, Matter, Thread, MQTT, KNX, Modbus. Your existing blinds, lights, thermostats or cameras stay usable.
Automations and scenes
Every module arrives ready to use, with its scenes, its automations and its control screen. You press, it works.
Network and security
A separate network for connected devices, encrypted remote access and automatic backups. That is what makes an installation last.
Handover and follow-up
We show you how it works, hand over the documentation and include 30 days of support. After that, maintenance stays optional.

Pick what is actually useful to you.

You activate the modules you care about, whenever you want. Each one works on its own, with its scenes, its automations and its control screen. Full details on the smart home page.

Network and infrastructure
Audit of your existing network, isolated IoT VLAN setup, UniFi APs or equivalent, managed switch, encrypted remote access via Cloudflare Tunnel or WireGuard. A mandatory prerequisite for reliable and secure smart home.

Founder of Takion, I handle smart home installations end to end: the visit, the quote, the fitting, the configuration and the follow-up. My background is deliberately cross-disciplinary: A2 chemistry technician, bachelor in biotech specialized in biomechanics and biomaterials, IT (Technocité), then a cybersecurity degree at CNAM Paris completed in one year.

I founded and led REDSYSTEM for six years, a company specialized in offensive cybersecurity sold to a Belgian group in October 2024. In parallel, technical leadership at DASHAN on infrastructure and architecture. Takion operates independently, with a scope strictly dedicated to home automation.

In the community, I founded the non-profit BeHack to federate the Belgian hacker scene (CTFs, conferences, knowledge sharing) and I taught offensive cybersecurity at Université Sorbonne Paris Nord from 2021 to 2023. Regular appearances in French-language press under the handle zettersploit. This practice reinforces the quality and security of Takion deliverables without being a commercial offering.

FAQ

The questions that come up.

Direct answers to the questions homeowners ask when they contact us for the first time.

Roughly, how much does it cost?
It depends on what you activate and on the size of the home. Every module shows its starting price on the smart home page, and the calculator gives you a range in one minute, without you leaving any contact details. The firm quote is issued after the site visit.
How long does it take to get a quote?
We respond within 48 business hours to any request. The audit of your existing installation is free and the detailed quote arrives within 5 business days. In the Tournai / Hainaut area, the technical site visit is free of charge.
Does it still work if the internet goes down?
Yes. Home Assistant runs at your place, on your own machine. Your switches, scenes and automations keep working without a connection. Only remote access from outside and any online services you added (weather, calendar) are unavailable while the line is down.
Does my data go to the cloud?
Home Assistant is open source and runs at your place: you remain the owner of your installation and your data. No cloud required, no lifetime licence, no mandatory subscription. Voice recognition can be 100% local, and remote access goes through an encrypted tunnel (Cloudflare Tunnel or WireGuard).
Who do you work with?
Private homeowners first: owners, renovating or building, who want a smart home that works without juggling three apps. Companies, electricians and integrators are served too: you fit the hardware, we take care of the Home Assistant software layer and the automations, as a subcontractor or co-contractor.
What area do you cover?
Component installation is included within Tournai and 50 km around it. The annual on-site visit of the Premium plan covers the Tournai / Hainaut area. Beyond that, we discuss it at quoting time.
Which equipment and protocols are supported?
Home Assistant has more than 3,000 official integrations, complemented by community HACS solutions for less common or older brands. Protocol side: Zigbee, Z-Wave, Matter, Thread, MQTT, KNX, Modbus. If your brand is not in our selection, we check it together.
Do I need to buy specific hardware?
Not necessarily. If you already own a compatible NAS (Synology, QNAP, TrueNAS or a home Docker server), Home Assistant can run on it with no extra hardware. Otherwise, five host options are available, from the Raspberry Pi 5 to a dedicated mini-PC. The hardware prices shown are indicative and confirmed in the quote.
What happens after the installation?
Hands-on training, documentation handed over, 30 days of support included. Maintenance is then optional: updates, availability monitoring and verified backups if you take a plan.
How does invoicing work?
Detailed quote before anything starts. Prices shown on the site include 21% Belgian VAT: that is the amount you pay. The ex-VAT amount is given below, for business customers. Maintenance plans are billed monthly, with no minimum term, cancellable with one month's notice. Details in our terms and conditions.
Are you an agency or an installer?
Takion is a Belgian company specialised in Home Assistant smart homes. A small outfit: you speak directly to the person who does the install, not to a salesperson who hands the file over.
Do you offer cybersecurity services?
No. Takion is strictly dedicated to home automation. Cybersecurity is an internal skill that reinforces the quality of our deliverables (isolated IoT network, encrypted remote access, tested backups) but we do not sell it as a service. For dedicated needs, we can refer you to a specialized partner.
